The Italian System must team up to win the challenge with other countries and contribute to the development of football in China. This is the synthesis message out of the Conference organized by ItalBrand in concert with RomaExpo and China World Football Expo and promoted by the CNIFP Italian National Committee Fair Play held for the whole day yesterday in the Multipurpose Hall of Palazzo Chigi, with Patronage and the collaboration of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
The title of the conference was “Conferenza di Organizzazione – Il Contributo italiano allo sviluppo del calcio in Cina”, “Organization Conference – The Italian contribute to the football developement in China”.
China counts already 60 million beginners and almost half a billion people who say they are interested in football, with families that have almost doubled spending for “recreational activities” in the last five years. This is what Tommaso Nastasi, Partner of DELOITTE said, who spoke about business opportunities in China for European clubs. They introduced the so-called FootBall Town, shopping centers and sports that are growing visibly (96 today, 150 in two years), a sign of the rampant Chinese passion for football. Andrea Canapa of the Italy-China Foundation instead, underlined the real boom in football schools: 20,000 today, 50,000 in 2025.
China is no longer a country in search of European football stars, but increasingly it’s committing to creating its own: a break on purchases and more investments in the youth sector.
Italy will give its own contribution during the China World Football Expo days, from the 30th of Nov to the 2nd of Dec building up the Padiglione Italia, where all the Italian Best technologies will be exposed in those days.
